Anglicare WA YSHAC Rockingham and Spearwood

Anglicare WA – YSHAC provides shared emergency accommodation and 24 hour support for youths aged 15-20 years old. Located in Spearwood and Rockingham, young people who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness are provide support from youth workers, where a range of support is provided including accommodation, independent living activities, goal setting and other activities.

The Department for Child Protection and Family Support’s after hours service, Crisis Care Unit, operates twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

This telephone service prioritises child protection concerns. It also provides information, advice, support and intervention for people in crises and needing urgent help. Types of crises addressed by the service include child protection concerns, family and domestic violence, suicidal ideation and homelessness.

Crisis Care Unit assists callers experiencing homelessness by providing information and advice. In exceptional and unforeseen circumstances, support is provided for callers to access short-term crisis accommodation.

Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC)

The Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC) is the emergency sexual assault (rape crisis) service for Perth, Western Australia.

SARC is located in Perth, Western Australia, and provides high-quality care for females and males, 13 years and over, who have been affected by sexual assault (also called rape) or sexual abuse. SARC provides a 24-hour emergency sexual assault (rape crisis) service in metropolitan Perth. This involves medical care, a forensic examination and counselling support to people who have been sexually assaulted (or raped) within the previous 14 days.

SARC also provides counselling in centres across the Perth metropolitan area to people who have experienced sexual assault (rape) and sexual abuse in the past. SARC is a free confidential service. It is NOT part of the police, however SARC will support a person’s decision to involve the police.

SARC is located on the King Edward Memorial Hospital site in a building which is separate from the hospital and which has been designed to maintain a sense of confidentiality and to provide a non-hospital environment.

  • Anyone who is bereaved by suicide
  • Health professionals supporting people who are affected by suicide.
