The South East Metropolitan Community Alcohol and Drug Service is an integrated service operating as a partnership between Palmerston and Next Step. The service provides improved access to a comprehensive range of alcohol and other drug (AOD) services available at one location. Clients have access to a streamlined assessment and care pathway drawing on the full range of Next Step, Palmerston and allied co-located services. Palmerston provides counselling and support and Next Step provides medical and psychological services. Clients may also access home based withdrawal services provided by the Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Network (DAWN).

The service is appropriate for:

• Individuals seeking information/change/assistance in regards to their own or someone else’s alcohol and other drug use
• Families affected by alcohol or other drug issues
• Professionals and other service providers
• Communities tackling local alcohol or other drug issues
